From the Barefoot doctor to modern traditional remedies, the use of traditional Chinese medicine has become an accepted healing modality in most parts of the world. Yunnan Educational and Health Services (YEHS) study abroad programs offer students a unique opportunity to study oriental medicine, traditional diagnosis, ancient and modern needling techniques, tuina massage, herbal prescription writing and dispensing, traditional medical diet therapy, tai ji quan and other traditional therapies, as well as cultural exchange, village home stays and minority studies. These program provides an introduction to ancient oriental philosophy, theory, practices and history in traditional Chinese medicine, tai ji quan and other Taoist internal arts.
